Fundraising

Northbridge Sea Scouts relies on the ongoing support of Scout families, fund raising activities and donations with all proceeds going towards yearly expenses, including camping trips, life jackets, sails, tents and shed repairs.

Below is a list of some of the fundraising activities we do. We look forward to seeing you at our fundraising events!

Bunnings BBQs
We participate in the Bunnings Chatswood fundraising BBQs on a Saturday or Sunday. These events give kids an excellent exposure to serving sausages and drinks to customers.

Our next Bunnings Chatswood (Smith Street, Chatswood) event is on Sunday 9 December.

Annual Christmas Tree Sales
Picture
Northbridge Sea Scouts get into the festive spirit by selling Christmas trees on Fridays and Saturdays during the first half of December each year. This is our key fundraising activity.

Trees will range in size from 160 to 240cm. Northbridge Scouts have been selling Christmas trees for more than 25 years and is the preferred place in the area for buying a live Christmas Tree.

All the children and parents of 1st Northbridge Sea Scouts are expected to help out with the annual Christmas tree sale. It gives the kids an opportunity to practice their selling skills, help people carry the trees and trim the tree bases. For the parents, it gives them an opportunity to catch up and connect with the locals. It really is all about the community spirit.

Complementary trunk trimming and instructions on caring for your tree will be offered at the event.

Christmas Trees can be pre-ordered online.

Donations for the Boatshed
Northbridge Sea Scouts has a boat shed on Sailors Bay. It is a popular venue during the warmer months.

The boat shed has not changed since it was built in the 1950s. With long term sea levels
rising, we need to raise our boatshed to prevent high tides from reaching the floor.

This is a costly exercise which we need to raise funds. A subcommittee is currently exploring options to address the long term future of the boat shed.

Your donation towards this project would be greatly appreciated. Please click here to make a donation.
