This year we had another successful ski trip. Everyone throughly enjoyed themselves and there were no injuries. Everyone returned home safely on Friday night. The only injury was our loyal trailer! Just after passing the Campbelltown exit, Mark who was driving the bus noticed there was something amiss with the trailer and pulled over to investigate. The driver's side wheel of the trailer was about to come off the axle! After a quick deliberation, it was decided to unhitch the trailer, lock it up (to keep the contents secure) and get everyone back to the Hall safely by midnight. We alerted Campbelltown police about our trailer. Arrangements were made for the trailer to be delivered to the Hall aboard a flat bed tow truck on Saturday. Everyone picked up their luggage on the Sunday. On 24 July, the trailer was loaded onto a car trailer to be taken to hospital (mechanic) to get a new axle. At the same time the trailer will also be fitted with gas bottle holders and various holes repaired. The trailer will be out of action for 3 weeks. Thank you for Mark and Stephen for taking good care of our trusty, hardworking trailer. We look forward to its return! Cubs made the most of a midweek visit to Vivid to miss the crowds. Cubs enjoyed interacting with the different light shows & the travel on the bus & train was as much fun as the lights. Alison Hawkins-Bond |
